Responsible Gaming

Version: 1.0  |  Last Updated: 30 July 2025

At Crownplay, we believe that gambling should always be an enjoyable and entertaining activity. We are fully committed to promoting a safe gambling environment and providing our Players with the tools and information they need to stay in control. This Responsible Gaming Policy forms an integral part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Our Commitment

1.1. Responsible Gaming Philosophy

Crownplay takes its responsibility towards its Players seriously. We recognise that for a small proportion of people, gambling can become harmful. Our mission is to provide a safe, fair, and transparent gaming environment where Players can enjoy our Services responsibly, and where those who need help can access it quickly and easily.

1.2. Core Principles

Our responsible gaming framework is built on the following core principles:

  • Prevention: Implementing age verification, eligibility checks, and player protection tools to prevent harm before it occurs;
  • Awareness: Educating Players about the risks of problem gambling and providing clear information about available support;
  • Intervention: Monitoring player behaviour and taking proactive steps to support Players who may be at risk;
  • Support: Signposting Players to qualified external support organisations when needed.

2. Recognising Problem Gambling

2.1. Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or financial situation. It is important to recognise the warning signs early. You may have a gambling problem if you identify with one or more of the following:

  1. You spend more money or time gambling than you originally intended or can afford;
  2. You feel the need to gamble with increasingly larger amounts of money in order to experience the same level of excitement;
  3. You have made repeated unsuccessful attempts to cut back, control, or stop your gambling;
  4. You feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to reduce or stop gambling;
  5. You use gambling as a way to escape from personal problems, stress, depression, anxiety, or negative emotions;
  6. After losing money, you return to gambling in an attempt to win it back (“chasing losses”);
  7. You have lied to family members, friends, or others in order to hide the extent of your gambling activity;
  8. Gambling has caused significant tension or conflict within your personal or family relationships;
  9. You have borrowed money, sold possessions, or engaged in dishonest behaviour to fund your gambling;
  10. You have neglected work, education, or important personal responsibilities because of gambling.

If you identify with any of the above, we strongly encourage you to use the player protection tools available on this Platform and to seek support from one of the organisations listed in Section 6 of this page.

3. Player Protection Tools

3.1. Deposit Limits

Players can set limits on the amount they deposit into their Account over a defined time period. The following limit types are available:

  • Daily Deposit Limit: Maximum amount deposited within a 24-hour period;
  • Weekly Deposit Limit: Maximum amount deposited within a 7-day period;
  • Monthly Deposit Limit: Maximum amount deposited within a 30-day period.

Deposit limits take effect immediately when decreased. Increasing a deposit limit is subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period to ensure the decision is considered carefully. To set or modify deposit limits, visit your Account settings or contact our support team at [email protected].

3.2. Loss Limits

Players may set limits on the net amount they are prepared to lose within a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once a loss limit is reached, no further real-money wagers will be accepted until the limit period resets or the limit is adjusted. As with deposit limits, reductions are immediate and increases are subject to a cooling-off period.

3.3. Session Time Limits

Players can set a maximum duration for each gaming session. Once the session time limit is reached, the Player will be automatically notified and will be required to actively confirm they wish to continue. Players may also request that the Platform display a clock or elapsed time indicator during gameplay.

3.4. Wager Limits

Players may set a maximum amount per individual wager. This tool is designed to prevent impulsive high-value bets and helps Players maintain control over their spending on a bet-by-bet basis.

3.5. Cooling-Off Period

A cooling-off period allows a Player to take a temporary break from gambling without fully excluding themselves from the Platform. Cooling-off periods are available for the following durations:

  • 24 hours;
  • 7 days;
  • 30 days;
  • Custom period (up to 6 months).

During a cooling-off period, the Player’s Account remains accessible for non-gaming functions (e.g., viewing history or withdrawing funds), but no real-money gameplay is permitted. The cooling-off period cannot be cancelled once activated.

3.6. Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is a more serious measure available to Players who feel they need to stop gambling for a significant period or indefinitely. When a Player opts for self-exclusion:

  • The Account is immediately suspended;
  • All marketing and promotional communications are ceased;
  • The Player is removed from all active bonus programmes and tournaments;
  • Login access to the Platform is blocked for the duration of the exclusion.

Self-exclusion periods are available from 6 months to 5 years, or permanently. A permanent self-exclusion cannot be reversed. Requests to lift a time-limited self-exclusion before its expiry will not be accepted. To activate self-exclusion, contact us at [email protected] or use the self-exclusion option within your Account settings.

3.7. Reality Checks

Players can activate automated on-screen notifications (“reality checks”) that appear at defined intervals (e.g., every 30, 60, or 90 minutes) during gameplay. These notifications display information about the duration of the current session and total net wins or losses, helping Players make informed decisions about continuing to play.

4. Tips for Responsible Gambling

4.1. Guidelines for Healthy Play

Whether you are a new or experienced player, the following guidelines will help you maintain a healthy relationship with gambling:

  • Gamble for entertainment only — treat gambling as a form of leisure, not as a way to make money or solve financial problems;
  • Set a budget before you start — decide in advance how much you can afford to spend and stick to it, regardless of outcomes;
  • Only gamble with funds you can afford to lose — never wager money needed for rent, bills, food, or other essential living expenses;
  • Set time limits — use our session time limits and take regular breaks away from the screen;
  • Avoid chasing losses — if you have reached your limit, stop playing. Chasing losses rarely leads to recovery and often increases them;
  • Keep gambling in perspective — balance your gaming activity with other hobbies, social activities, and responsibilities;
  • Never gamble under the influence — alcohol, drugs, or strong emotions can impair your judgement and lead to decisions you may regret;
  • Use our protection tools — proactively set deposit, loss, and session limits in your Account settings;
  • Take breaks — if gambling stops being fun or becomes stressful, use the cooling-off tool to take a break;
  • Seek help early — if you recognise any signs of problem gambling in yourself or someone close to you, do not wait to seek help.

5. Protection of Minors

5.1. Age Verification

Crownplay strictly prohibits access to its Services by individuals under the age of 21 years. All Players are required to complete age verification as part of the KYC process before they are permitted to deposit funds or play for real money. Where there is any doubt about a Player’s age, their Account will be suspended pending the provision of satisfactory verification documents.

5.2. Advice for Parents and Guardians

We encourage parents and guardians to take proactive steps to prevent underage access to gambling websites. The following measures are recommended:

  • Use parental control software to restrict access to gambling websites on shared or family devices;
  • Never share your Account login credentials with minors;
  • Log out of your Account whenever you step away from your device;
  • Educate young people about the risks and potential harms associated with gambling;
  • Be aware of and utilise tools such as the Kids Wallet application available in Greece, which enables parents to block access to gambling-related content for users under 18.

5.3. Parental Control Resources

Third-party filtering tools that can help restrict access to gambling websites include Net Nanny, Kaspersky Safe Kids, and Qustodio. These tools can be configured to block specific categories of content, including online gambling, on any device used by children.
